From informal donations to employee-driven giving

At Acubiz, the shift didn’t happen because something was broken — but because something could be better.

“We didn’t really have a specific way of doing things before – it was a bit loose.”

Donations happened. Gifts were given.

But it wasn’t structured or strategically anchored.

At the same time, something became clear:

“I could sense that it actually meant a lot to our employees to help decide where we donate. When given the space, they all have causes they care deeply about.”

That realization led to a new model.

Employee co-determination is a core value at Acubiz.

“It’s a core value for us that our employees feel heard and have the opportunity to influence strategic initiatives. So it felt natural to let employees decide where company donations go.”

On special occasions, employees receive a fixed donation amount as part of their gift, combining traditional gifting with the opportunity to give back.

“It’s about the ideology that giving is a gift in itself.”

Using actnation to facilitate this shows responsibility and integrity.

Charitable giving is now integrated into:

  • Onboarding

  • Birthdays

  • Recognition moments (such as reaching a sales target or other milestones)

Giving employees a voice

More than a benefit

Previously, donations were not systematized.

“Like any other strategy, you get nowhere without planning, purpose, and a structured approach to creating value.”

With actnation, Acubiz has:

  1. Streamlined administration

  2. Automated allocation of donation amounts

  3. Empowered employees to choose their own cause

“What used to be heavy administrative work is now simple and valuable.”

“Just do it. Simple as that. With very few clicks, employees influence something bigger than themselves.”
